Our Program Administrator and Patient Advocates

Program Administrator: Kim Brown
Kim joined Western Bariatric Institute in June, 2006 as Marketing Director. In this role, she was responsible for promoting Western Bariatric Institute in the community to physicians and to patients and worked on supporting events such as the Fashion Show and support groups. In October, 2008, Kim was promoted into the position of Program Administrator and is now responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functions of our office. Prior to joining Western Bariatric Institute, Kim worked in the health care field for four years in the Reno area. Kim received her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology and Communications from the University of Oregon in 1997 and relocated to Reno with her family in 2002. Patient Advocate: Roberta Brown
Roberta worked with Western Bariatric Institute part-time from September, 2003 - June, 2004 before relocating to Southern California to be with family. Roberta missed Reno so much though, that she moved back the following year. Roberta returned to Western Bariatric Institute on March 3, 2005 as a full-time employee. Roberta has filled many roles within our office, initially working at the front desk, then doing check out, and then filling the Patient Coordinator role.  In January of 2007, Roberta was promoted to the Patient Advocate role where she works directly with patients as they work towards surgery.  Roberta is an amazing resource for our patients due to her extensive history with our organization. Not only is Roberta an incredible team player for Western Bariatric Institute - she is also a former patient! Roberta had Roux-En-Y Gastric Bypass performed on February 28, 2003 by Dr. John Ganser and has lost a total of 189 pounds since surgery! Patient Advocate: Sarai Swanson 
Sarai joined the team at Western Bariatric Institute in January, 2007 as a Patient Advocate.  In this role, Sarai partners with patients to assist them with their pathway to surgery and is a resource for questions or concerns.  Sarai has been a part of the Reno/Sparks community for the last twenty years.  She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing from the University of Nevada, Reno and has been working in the customer service industry for the last six years.  In her spare time, Sarai enjoys running, hiking, and playing basketball with her three year old son.  When asked what she likes best about her job, Sarai said, "It is very rewarding for me to know that I have been involved in helping to change others lives in a positive way!"  To reach Sarai, please call (775) 789-9190 or email her at sswanson@westernsurgical.com.
