Emmi

Patient Support

Emmi is an interactive patient education series that manages the expectations of people who are scheduled for surgery. It covers an array of information about many surgical procedures. In addition, it serves as an educational tool to effectively illustrate and synthesize difficult, intimidating and often discouraging information about surgeries.

Emmi will walk you through the entire surgical experience from pre-op to post-op, including risks and alternatives. And, while you are being educated, each click is recorded to create a permanent record of what you saw, heard and did while viewing the program.

Benefits of Emmi:

  • It reduces the malpractice risk for hospitals and surgeons by providing irrefutable evidence that a patient was presented with the appropriate information, particularly the risks and benefits, prior to undergoing a surgical procedure. Patients are also given the opportunity to ask questions or signal concerns.
  • It can dramatically improve levels of patient satisfaction. Patients who are educated about their procedure are far more satisfied and sue much less often.
  • It saves time by reducing some of the burden on support staff by answering patients questions and concerns before they meet with the surgeon.
  • It can improve compliance with pre and post-operative instructions, which in turn can reduce the overall cost and effort associated with aftercare.

Emmi access is provided to patients who are scheduled for surgery. Login information will be sent to patients along with their pre-operative packet, approximately 2 - 3 weeks prior to surgery.
