Mark Kozar MD, FACS

 Mark D. Kozar, MD, FACS attended medical school at George Washington University School of Medicine, Washington, DC.   He completed a research fellowship and residency at Stanford University, Stanford, California.  Dr. Kozar is an active member of American Society for Bariatric Surgery, Society for Laparoscopic Surgeons, American Society of Breast Disease, American Medical Association, Nevada Medical Association, Washoe County Medical Society, and Reno Surgical Society. He is one of the founders of Western Bariatric Institute, and has been an advocate for weight loss surgery since its inception in 2000.  Dr. Kozar is part of one of the most comprehensive bariatric programs in the United States, and performs three types of minimally procedures.  He was a pioneer in the Vertical Gastric Sleeve, one of today’s safest and most popular procedures.
